TNT Airways

Morning all

Any news on terms & conditions at TNT airways? Anyone have an idea how things are looking these days? PPJN has a FO salary pegged at EUR 2200 per month after tax (this data is from 2007, mind) with a 2.5% (inflation!) rise per year. A skippers salary doesn't look much better using the old data either: EUR 3150.

Anyone with any info would be extremely grateful - they keep on knocking and I'd like some more up to date info before I tell them where to stick it!

TNT-B777

Hi Folks

I received several mails that TNT is looking in Belgium for B777 Cpt. with a pay of less then 8.000.-- € before Tax, -40% Tax to the Belgium Tax pott = 4.800.-- € for your pocket minus your expenses, minimum commute and accommodation or relocation.

You should have at least 500 hrs on type and a good number of total is a must for this opportuntiy. I am sick of listening to these recruitment Agent´s. Sometime I am wondering what they are taking home per month. Must be about the level of a McDonnald´s Manager??

Pay peanuts and get monkey´s still counts or did I miss something here ?

A very poor deal and makes you wonder how/why anyone would work there. Pay for a 146 skipper is around 7000 euro which at contract rate wouldn't be too bad but, as it's for a permanent position and hence attracts Belgian tax rates, my iffy maths gives a take-home of around 3100 euros = £2600!!!

I understand they are pretty desperate for crew and I'm not surprised! If they are that needy and have to attract non-nationals then maybe they ought to rethink the package.

You can't run an airline if all you hire are ab initios. Not if you want to maintain some reasonable level of experience amongst the crew.

My experience of companies such as TNT is that there is a fairly large turnover of crews and that maintaining experience levels can be a concern.

Rosters

How do rosters look like on B744 and any idea about future B777 roster?
Is it mission style ie two weeks around the world and then back for some days off or are you back in LGG regulary?

These are the same calculations I come to. Keep on ignoring the phone calls then, I say...!!

As far as I'm aware they are only looking for type rated chappies. Let's wait until they start needing contractors then see how the conditions change! They've already got a contracting company in to help try to recruit for the permanent positions - but they are offering the same conditions (already tried that!)! No wonder they can't sell it...

I'm liking the way the airlines are beginning to come begging once again!

Maybe there is hope....

I'm type rated on 777 with more hours they could dream of............... got a couple of calls from 2 different agencies in the last 10 days. I turned down both of them saying " You guys have to improve your T's and C's"!

Recruitment agent pay

I know a recruitment agent in IT recruitment for Computerpeople. He said in a good year he earns well in excess of £100 000 pa gross, in a bad year a bit below £100k.

Puts airline salaries in context doesn't it when you think the only requirement is to be able to read and screen CV's!!

We should be paid salaries equivalent to medical professionals in my view and arguably more. We're tested more frequently, put our lives in at risk along with the patient/pax, have responsibility for more lives, work more antisocial hours than most Doctors and specialists (only a small number work nights in casualty etc) and operate machinery worth many times that of any other profession apart from astronauts and major ship Captains.
