TAX on Allowances

Hi,

We at TCX have had the tax man decide that we don't need all our duty allowances and so he has decided that we should pay tax on them from April last year.
How can an allowance that is to cover out of pocket expenses we are paid, be any different to an allowance paid to the tax man himself, he gets up to £88 per day tax free!!

So what does that mean to anyone not from TCX, well simply anyone that still is lucky to have a tax free allowance may find that we at TCX are used as a precedence in any future attack by the tax man on your allowances.

A number of us have decided enough is enough and are lobbying with our local mp's including the Chancellor himself to have this discrimination addressed. So if i can ask for a little of your time to sign or online petition.

HMRC and it's discriminatory practices. - Petition Online - UK

So for the good of all of us and to hopefully resolve this discrimination based on who our employer is and to set a precedence for any future attempts by the tax man please sign up.

Thanks

You're not the first. When BA Conect was sold to Flybe, the change of tax office lead to the loss of our tax free allowances.

I know we are not the first but with out some kind of pressure we wont be the last.

What is the most unjust about it all is that we don't have one rule for all, and i am not just on about in our profession, the tax man when he is away from home gets up to £88 tax free. Is the cost of his sustenance more expensive than ours?

How can you and me have one tax rule to the person next door, It shouldn't be up to local tax inspectors to decide whats taxable or not that what central government is for?
