Marital status in Job applications?

Dear all,

I am in the process of applying for a program with an airline in Singapore. What I wanted to ask is, do airlines tend to discriminate between a candidate who's marital status is single compared to someone who is married? The course involves spending 9 months away for training.

I would assume that being being married would work against you? What are other peoples thoughts, experiences?

Thanks!

Being deliberately dishonest *will* work against you.

You are not unique, be prepared for the question " How will you cope with being away from your spouse for a long period of time" Have sensible answers. They just want to see you have thought about it, they don't want to see you will be distracted on the course, it's not a problem.
