BA Staff Travel
Would any current BA employees be kind enough to summarise your current staff travel benefits, and how they change with length of service?
I have done a search but there is little up to date information on here.
Many thanks in advance.

Hi
You can have 2 other people (or your family with all kids under 24) on your staff travel and then get :-
- Unlimited ID90's (either economy or Club priority)
-1 free J ticket when you join (per year)
-a second free ticket after 5 years (on a F priority)
Also get 30 Hotlines per year (to use for friends / family)
ID90's are not cheap anymore though (eg £220 to singapore, sounds cheap but it a busy route)

Another couple of questions!
Firstly, do you have to wait 6 months before staff travel kicks in or do you get it from the day you start?
Secondly, with regards the one F ticket a year, is that just for the staff member or does it include one other (my girlfriend) as well?
Finally, with regard to upgrades, if my parents were traveling on an ID90, what are the chances of them getting an upgrade?
Thanks!

The J priority "free" ticket is immediately available from DOJ. The standbys (not ID90 but zed fares which i believe are an industry standard way of charging staff tickets by distance travelled) kick in after 6 months.
All tickets are available to your nominees as described- although in most circumstances you have to travel together.
re your parents its possible, but not in any way guaranteed. You'll find out when you join!

BA v Virgin Staff travel
Would like to compare what nominees can receive ID90 tickets on British Airways v Virgin
Virgin
Category A on Virgins staff travel list is for your spouse or common-law partner, Cat B immediate family (including parents , sisters and brothers but not their children), Cat C one nominated companion. All three categories can travel unaccompanied without the employee. Cat D three companions listed who can travel with the employee or can be escorted by anyone in Cat A or B. Then if you the employee are travelling in a seat you can accompany anyone even if they are not on your list.
Unlimited upgrades to upper class and priority free travel depending on length of service which they normally confirm for you. One change of staff travel list a year and yes 7 'free' tickets for the staff member only (just taxes) and unlimited ID90 travel. After 2 years, 2 upper-class tickets for the staff member only.
British Airways
What does British airways offer to staff and for what companions? Can all spouse or common law partners, immediate family and a nominated companion receive the ID90 fares?
