Recency on type

Dear Collegues,
I am a Captain rated on B767 and B777, at present I am looking for job , but the last 15 application I made failed to reach the goal to be interviewed because ,even if current on both types ,my last flights ended more than a year ago.
Is there anyone of you, that faced the same situation, able to direct me toward a pilot friendly company that is able to let me to do at least one flight in order to have the possibility to log some fresh hour as PIC?
Regards
cuvcap

Don't worry my friend ,the Pilot shortage is already here, but the UK is still a very difficult market to get a DEC.

Is not my intention to take the job in UK to any british collegue, I am willing to work anywhere I am +10000 hrs total time and +5000hrs on the B767 my profile it should interest a lot of airlines, but.
My need is only to remove this "but" of the last flight on type.
Thank you anyway

Being blunt, probably only Turkey these days.. you have to do an OCC course, LPC, Training as required before you can even operate One flight, If you are willing to pay the airline the 10K or so it costs to do that...
You could do a couple of sims and then base training, but I doubt that would improve the CV, in other words a waste of money. There are jobs out there for experienced guys, but at 56 Asia is probably out unless you are current, I would look in Europe, but..767? not much, you could try Air Astana in KZ, they may bond you for the training, or Air Baltic on the 757, recency does not seem to be an issue with them

Air Astana I tried trough recruiter, the recency is a factor because of local CAA limitation.
Air Baltic I applied but didn't receive any answer.
A lot of recruiters told me to do a ferry flight, like around avery corner there is someone who offers you to ferry a B767 somewhere.

Have you tried Korean Airlines? I think that 57 is the max starting age there.

I will have good chances with Korean for the B777NTR position only when I will log a flight on the B757/B767 in the last 3 months.
I was waiting the call from Air India but from next december the new DCAA rules imposes minimum 700 Hrs on type from the 200Hrs at the time I've applied I have 440Hrs on type, result....also AI is gone.

Hello everybody,
i have the same problem as cuvcap but on A320.
Ttl hours 8.000, valid CPT ratings on A 320 but no flight on aircraft since february.
Does anybody have an idea where i may have the possibility to get flights, i would go for three month without any salary to compensate costs for the company.
Warm Regards

this is the only job in the world in which :
if you make a mistake you either DIE
or go to JAIL
if you are sick you wont work for rest of your life
and if you dont work for 3 months you wont work again!

can they stop asking us to be "flexible" with jobs if the aviation requirments arent flexible?
short term contracts and flexibility arent made for aviation, lets face it!

Check Vueling. They are willing to pay 830 euros for a recent entry FO, so they would love to hire a captain for free .

Fliegenderflieger ...there was another thread somewhere, maybe Southeast Asia, where DEC for expats on A320 was discussed at Air Asia [Malaysia] . . .
