To all who can't see the current reality - in the land of the blind the one-eyed man is king.
Ban me as well as Flintstone if you wish, all we're trying to do is highlight the stupidity of the lemming mentality that exists in todays market, nothing good will come from a wholesale sell-out to people like MOL, the profession is doomed....
I can't imagine any other 'profession' letting itself be demeaned in the way that has happened to pilots, we used to be something of proper value, now we're a commodity and those like Slim who feebly attempt to suggest that all is OK are living in a parallel universe........
Over and out

It will ever be thus with a 'vocation'. That is the nature of the beast. Everyone does whatever for a variety of reasons. Unity is therefore difficult to achieve in any of them. One man's gripe is another's OK. MOL has perfected the art of abusing that. He ain't the first and he certainly wont be the last. I suspect in other vocational professions there is a tight fisted bean-counter at the top. Have a peek under the medical profession covers and I suspect you'll be even more appalled.

Whatever happend to freedom of speech!!
I can't for the life of me understand why Flintstone has been banned for his views on what is a MAJOR issue in our industry.
How can a site such as Pprune still be considered to be impartial with all the advertising which appears at the top of the page encouraging the very same guys Ryanair prays on to part with all their hard earned cash with very shallow promises.

I don't think either of them are currently banned.
It would be a shame if they were, as it's the first even remotely interesting RYR thread I've read for a long time.

easyJet rosters you 5/3/5/4 regardless of sim checks, sickness, leave or base.
What happens to RYR 5/4 pattern when you've been off a couple of days with a cold?

The only time my roster changes is when I get my sim check it goes to 6/3 for that week.
Argue all you like against Ryanair but try to get the facts straight.
Someone from easyJet slagging another airlines roster? How times change!

5/4 pattern is respected through all of that. The only exception is that they can , by "agreement" nick some days each year (can't even remember how many, was it 5 ? as in reality they usually nicked 1 a year for sim, so that week you only had 3 off.) To the best of my knowledge they never pushed that point, and you truly could plan your life 1 yr ahead with confidence.
It isn't all bad, and that , along with spending 363 nights a year in your own bed (assuming you were based where you wanted, and sleeping with who you wanted ) is indeed one of the very best aspects of Ryanair life. The negatives have already been done to death.

All of it's been done to death, frankly.
Those who work for Ryanair couldn't care less what's said and just get on with their job; those that don't (and who keep starting these pointless, rambling anti-Ryanair threads) are, paradoxically, mostly Ryanair wannabes or rejects.
Can somebody start a thread about Ryanair that doesn't re-hash everything that's been said before or better still, just stop wasting bandwidth and take their prejudices elsewhere.
As an ex Ryanair pilot, I can tell you that they're quite able to look after themselves without others being outraged on their behalf.

Bruce et al,
Oh what the heck I just can't be bothered............
I'll take my world and you live in yours, the tragedy is that our collective profession is wilting under the cosh of the MOL's, but if you're happy with that then fine, I'll go on without further comment and just be glad that I'm not looking for my first job and living happily in another universe. The 'Flintstone' argument is clearly lost on most people here so goodnight all, over and out

Your last post was mostly reasonable but partly pathetic, really the lowest of the low.
"When the pax realise .. the captain is dehydrated and hungry..."
Do you really want it to sound like Auschwitz where you get shot for asking for a drink ?
Don't over-egg it. You can get free water and if you haven't eaten then that's entirely your fault. Grow up so you can carry the weight of your braid without the skinny shoulders wilting and you have to cry " Mama "

I'd rather work at McDonalds than work for you! These sort of comments sound so ridiculous that they just devalue any argument they are supposed to back up. Would you really rather work for the minimum wage flipping burgers all day instead of flying on a very modern fleet earning what those at McDonalds would regard as rather a good amount of money?
