It will be written in your contract, if not ? well when the money hits the bank do as you please, but don't look to work for them again if you screw them.
If you are speculating, ask someone already doing the contract that you are interested in, some I know for sure, are 1 mth notice.

It depends on which airline you are contracting for. Years back I worked for contractair and I had 3 months notice both ways.

Contractair contracts.

Stay clear of Contractair. Frances only work for the employer and not for you. If there are problems with the company you are working for then she always support the company against you.

You could apply that comment, to a greater or lesser extent, to any agency you care to name.
Surprised ? you shouldn't be.

New contract

After 01/11/09 they can get rid of you without notice. You have a 12 month contract ... If you leave before then ...
They want to sue you and you have to pay €18.500.-
And when you leave Frances don't pay.
Take care.

Is it really true that Contractair is trying to sue some pilots for 10,000 euros each even though they have not actually commenced their training with Jetairfly?

There really ıs a load of Sh^t on these forums sometımes. My own experıence wıth Contractaır was good, always paıd on tıme, no ıssues. When I started ın 2008 wıth JetAırfLy ıt was made very clear that TUI bond you for the traiınıng costs, then 18500E and thıs ıs a condıtıon on whıch you sıgn contract wıth Contractaır, ıf you dont lıke, dont sıgn, dont work at JetAIrfly. Now, ıf you leave by gıvıng two months notıce, then TUI wıll ask Contractaır to get some of the traınıng costs back, not unreasonable gıven you sıgn contract and agree to thıs. Of course Contractaır make commıssıon from you, but they are ın a busıness to make money. If pılots screw the agencıes then they just make ıt ımpossıble for the next guys comıng along.
There were some guys at JetAırfly that also were meant to fly at Jet4You out of Casa. they flunked theır DGCA check on purpose to get out of contract and ever sınce TUI has been very cautıous and now put guys through DGCA before doıng the JAR revalıdatıon or LPC. What goes around comes around.

Yes, they are suing at least 1 pilot for Eu 10K, who had the audacity to take up another offer one month before training even commenced.

What expenses can they, or the airline , claim to have incurred if the individual hadn't even started training, the next candidates interview? Nah ! and surely the cost of ones assessment sim-ride should be borne by the company, or do they think the candidate (successful or not) should be paying? Anyhow, 10K is a big p1sstake.Even if they say it is how much they would have earned courtesy of your labour for 1year, Hey, they are going to earn it anyhow with whoever takes the position instead, so what have they lost ?
Having previously applied for this position I can confirm they contribute not one €cent to expenses incurred in flying to BRU for the interview
( which in any case I failed ) nor indeed make any contribution to the cost of the hotel/hire car etc.
Neither was it mentioned to me before accepting the invitation that I would be expected to sign a bond on a type I was rated and current on, something neither I , nor my bank would have agreed to.

Instead of spending time/money on solicitors, they would be better using their efforts to see why people don't stick around/even show up, if they find something else.

There is a clear message there, but they don't want to hear it.

...who had the audacity to take up another offer one month before training even commenced.
Just been in touch with a mate in Cyprus and he tells me that at least 3 pilots are being sued - even before they started their course!! He also tells me that some pilots failed the interview as a result of not knowing the answers to obscure technical questions.........

How is the bond structured? Is it deducted from salary or do pilots have to raise a bank loan or.......?

AFAIK it's a bank guarantee YOU provide.

I couldn't, and WOULDN'T anyhow (why would you if current on type with so many opportunities elsewhere ? ? )
They are pulling a bit of a flanker by stipulating that although based in BRU with JetAirFly, you can expect to spend some time in MAK with Jet4You.

Suspect that may be why some have told them to take a hike

They used to (10 years ago) be a half decent agency, but like PARC, they seem to be going rapidly downhill to join so many other mercenary half wits operating in this sector.

Captplaystation,

Thanks for the info - I am happy to take my wife to BRU but not north Africa so I don't think it is for me.
