Great Wall Airlines is a Cargo airline based in Shanghai.. They are partly owned by SIA.. Have heard it through the grapevine as they say, that they are pretty well funded, despite cargo movement being low from China to the US, Great Wall are supposed to be financially steady at least for the next couple of years..They currebtly fly to the US (Seattle and Chicago) Manchester, Amsterdam, Incheon etc.

I saw one of them take off in Atlanta, GA last week. It was right in front of me. That is why I started this thread. Any ideas where it was going? (ANC?) Cheers.

We do ANC-ORD-ATL-ANC and sometimes SEA in there for kicks. We also fly Tianjin-Amsterdam return with the odd stop in Manchester on the way. They try to give us four pilots on the long ones, but we are quite short of crew at the moment so it's not always possible. I had an ANC lined up two crew, but it was cancelled before it happened.
Normally that (USA) tour starts with a dead head to ANC, or at times operating into ANC and continuing for a two week rotation through the States, with layovers in ORD and ANC. Most of us live in other countries and commute to Shanghai. No talk of basing just yet though. Travel on the upper deck is no worries for us, unlike big brother SQ where, I think, they have to pay for an upper deck seat.
Not sure if you can PM me, but send me your email if not and I can answer some questions regarding the company if you're doing an interview.
Personally I am really enjoying it. The management has treated me great, rostering does what they can to get you the home leave you request (I'm batting 1000), and the atmosphere amongst the pilot's is one of the best I've experineced, likely as it is such a small closed knit group.
Best of luck with the interview.
Anyway, like I said, PM me or drop your email into the fray here and I'll reply that way.
