Post The Freebird of Failure.

Perhaps our Florida Freebird needs a geography lesson, but we're not (thank God) in the United States, and different rules apply here.
Back again, Florida?
What is it gonna be? BC? BTRE? How exciting!
Perhaps the quiet satisfaction of knowing that his strength of character is contributing to the seeing off of an existential threat to our Ryanair jobs and ways of life.

Slim doesn't want BLAPA anymore. He's had them once. They failed him miserably, but silly him for joining when not a pilot of West Drayton Willy.

Experience is everything in our business, Free Flaccid Florida. You'd do well to remember that.

Bonglebear,

Why not have a look at how eJ has shaped out with Balpa recognition? Set contracts, proper negotiations, and when recently a genius manager decided to simply remove something from our remuneration (an act you may have to become familiar with), Balpa waved a writ and the decision was hastily reversed.

In a safety critical job, it's important that the employer is not allowed to bully and threaten. Balpa is not a great way to stop that (they are expensive and sometimes a bit unreliable) but they are much better than nothing.
But easyjet management aren't like Ryanair management. Ours are ruthless, maybe that's why the future of our airline is alot stronger than yours. We all know that MOL wont listen to BALPA if they get in.

I still don't get the point. What good are BALPA going to do? Besides cost me an annual subscription and lose me all the terms that are good at Ryanair - 5/4, my UK base, command in the forseeable future, my allowances etc...

From LHC :-

Latest Ryanair straw pole suggests, BASE BY BASE, less than 8.75-9.25% interest in BLAPA
We've all heard of a straw poll Leo, but what exactly is a straw pole ?

Perhaps you meant this :-

And to think you referred to others in the very same post as "semi-literate" and claimed our Florida friend needed a geography lesson !

It appears you need an English lesson.

You really must try harder !

You are ALL missing the point AGAIN.

This is all about "JOBS" Your job and that of your colleagues.

I have no doubt that the treat to close bases WILL be carried out should a majority of BALPA members vote yes at any base.

Are you prepared to RISK your Job and that of many others, on a whim that BALPA might do something for you, in the future.

BALPA will only work in a non confrontational environment, and from what I see and hear, this will not be the the case on either side at RYR.

Nobody has yet told me about the BRK crews, how can they be included ?
or will they be sold down the river by a few die hards who will vote them out of work, without a say in their futures.

I am not management but many of my ex students are BRK contracted pilots at Ryanair
