Jetstar Recruiting

Yes they are currently recruiting F/Os and Captains for AKL and CHC.
If you don't mind flying brand new A320s and getting paid slightly less than a barista then go for it!

I do understand that the pay is not the greatest.. But I was wondering perhaps there is a chance of command? I dont mind even undergoing low pay for one to one and half years, if i can get command by then.. Please if anyone knows of FO opportunities in SIN would be very grateful..

That comment just about sums up why Ts&Cs are getting worse and worse everywhere... Nice one..

I assume you, like most people who make those comments, have a job?

I'm not trying to demean anyone or the job for that matter.. But I'm 50 years old, have 8000 hours, rated on 320/330/340, L1011, 744, but who gives a damn, I'm still a FO..Once my current contract is over in 3 years time, i don't know if there will be a company wanting to hire a 54 year old FO.. That is why I really need a break with some airline, one which will agree to give me command.. Then at least i can work till I'm 60!

Hey guys, I'm fairly desperate now, my family is based here in Sin, and my job is vey shaky at present.. That is why i'm hoping that i could possibly get into Jetstar or one of the budget carriers in Sin because they seem to be doing ok with the current situation.. Do anyone of you have any colleagues or friends at Jetstar or Tiger?? I would be so grateful if you can help me with a contact, cheers..

Danger

JetStar Pacific (VN) took in high timer F/Os for its 1st leased A320 last July with the promise of command upgrade when the 2nd acft arrives, projected then on Nov 2008. They ended up being loaned to Tiger in SIN instead.

Moral of the story is obvious: The company can make all sorts of promises, written or otherwise, but the fine print (there is always one) still allows them room to extricate.

My friends in Tiger have already moved, and I'm waiting feedback from the few left in JetStar SIN.

Just wondering where you were a year ago when JetStar SIN was offering direct entry command to high timer 320 F/Os?

Next closest option for you could be Air Asia. Not too far from SIN, and you could cross the border from Johor Bahru.

You have been extremely kind! Thank you.. Well could i email you in the future? I did have a steady job at the time, so was not that worried.. My issue is, that at the moment, my job is at risk and would want something stable and with good prospects for command, as I'm 50 years old!!! I'm in the process of applying to Air Asia as well, yes i definitely don't mind working in KL since its so close to Sin. Anyone of these places would be just wonderful if you can help: Jetstar, Tiger or AirAsia.. Please email me at [email protected] thank you again

Hi Capt Solisist.. Just saw that u are online.. I will be sending in my application to AirAsia tomorrow.. They are recruiting captains with zero command experience, would you be able to tell me anything more on this? Extremely sorry for the inconvenience but I'm desperate right now..

Hey there 'Driver,

I'm still trying to find the contact details of Capt. Chiong. He's the head of the Air Asia Trng Academy.

If you have friends who work(ed) for Asiana, they might know him personally as he used to fly the 744 there.

Thanks so much.. Well i Don't know anyone from Asiana, but would really appreciate if you could get in touch with this person and give me more details, it would be great. The thing thats most attractive about AirAsia is that they are recruiting (Thats what the site says) FO's as direct entry captains and the requiement i do meet. Also any chance at Jetstar SIN? Thanks for all your help..

Hi
Does anyone know any of the chief pilots at Tiger Airways, Jetstar or AirAsia? I have applied to both Tiger and AirAsia.. It would be very helpful for me if anyone of you knows the chief pilots at anyone of these places, so that maybe my application be expedited and i can get an interview date fast.. Cheers
