With the changes to the Bmi Mainline network regarding the Leeds and Teeside routes being axed along with Jersey. Which bases are these spare Regional Aircraft and crew going to? How many 145's are being used for the Brussels route when it changes, will one night stop in EBBR?

Not surprisingly, management are being a bit quiet on the true facts of the Regional summer schedual...though we do only have fours weeks left!

Best guess is:

2 a/c based in LHR crewed with secondments and LBA crew. (HAN and ???)
2 a/c to go in ABZ crewed with ABZ crew, (LHR and BHX)
1 a/c based in BRU crewed with LBA crew. (LHR)

ABZ based severely UNDERcrewed...LBA based severely OVERcrewed! All other bases seem to be around the correct number.

Anyone else?

Any rumours of the so called expansion of routes at LBA as mention in the recent press articles?

T & Cs

Also heard the rumour that LBA is overcrewed. The fact that the bus is too large for many routes, helps bmir. Good luck to ya all. As a tip: More t&c's for bmir can be found here.

No recruitment for 2009 by the looks of it.

Flight deck across the board will crewed to optimum numbers this year.

Any news or rumour regarding Bmi regional and Lufthansa. Things have gone very quiet regarding the take over and future direction of the company. Guys talking about Mainline having wanted more Aircraft for Heathrow than regional had avaliable. Any crew leaving for bigger things, what little there is out there at the mo?

Winter schedule

Anyone got any thoughts on the winter schedule yet? It seems likely that mainline will reduce their requirement for EMB's, possibly down to 3 units. With frequencies being reduced on many regional routes already, will the company take the plunge and cut under-performing routes altogether? If so, what will be the impact on the workforce?

gangster tactics

just heard that the tupe lot were threatened not to go ahead with tribunal .
bmi said they would win in court and destroy everyone with damages claims
they stated "we have already got 100 grand out of ex employees"
what a company to work for
no wonder some of their pilots look like lester piggott after his short stay in her majesty's guest house.
life at the bbc "bilderberger corporation"is much easier

Ah burger I wondered where you went. I missed the rantings of a madman. Tupe never really applied in this situation. if they feel differently they could chance their arm!!

As for Lester P I don't feel like I've had a greasing!

Back to the topic.....

Whats the rumours of future size and shape at bmi/bmir. Have Lufty given any indication at all of their future intentions for the company. Is there going to be a downsize in the fleet this winter? Are people looking at staying put for the long term. Any retirements, movers to the UAE or Cathy as the UK food chain has come to a grinding halt?

stagnation

thats the wrong word
net jets has just booted 100 out
bmi and many others others are down sizing
as far as flying goes the downturn has'nt reached it yet
swimmers "add 10 years"
and for many others "take photo's of the flight deck now"
it's good for the memories album
by the way "tupe" did apply at bmi.
and for all the wannabe's
sorry sonny but you hav'nt got what it takes
third generation double glazing has arrived and if you can convince yourself your gonna be a sky god then you can sell anything!

Not sure, but I would hope to see steady loads throughout the winter! The airline is busy at the moment with scheduled and charter. We keep our fingers crossed for the future and hope to see some new blood on board eventually.

Good rumour about baby, hopefully they can keep steaming along too!

Good luck!

Anyone else recently receive an email from BMIR requesting applications? Requirements being only 500hrs TT! Seems surprising given the content of this thread....

VFE,

Can I take it from your post that you did, just recieve an e-mail from regional asking to you make an application? Or update your old one?

Who did it come from HR, or an individual?

This could be very positive as a potential top up, should some in the pool need to depart for a course shortly

Oh, allowing myself to think something positive regarding regional and getting a job, I dont think I will ever learn

VFE, I look forward to hearing from you

I got the same, and I have less than 500TT. So I assume it was a general email that went out to everyone.
