Career breaks
Hi,
Speaking here as a wannabe, (so please excuse any naivity) I was hoping you could tell me what opportunities, if any, your company allows for career/ lifestyle breaks. How easy would it be to jump on and off the career ladder, returning to the same company after a period of between weeks, months or even years?
I understand the need to maintain currency is perhaps the most important factor here...so what are the options? Bearing in mind, all things working out, I'd still be quite young , perhaps 21-25, how would taking a break affect my seniority etc... To put it in context, I'm thinking in terms of heading off occasionally hardcore backpacking for hopefully months at a time. Is it possible to do this whilst keeping an airline career!!?
Regards,

Depends comletely on the company and their requirements at the time?
For instance my company offered unpaid leave, which we could bid for and was allocated in order of seniority and you kept your seniority.
Not surprisingly there weren't many takers!!!!!
As I had said depends completely on the company and their requirements wont be a problem at the moment in most airlines. But who knows what it will be like in 2yrs if there's any airlines left that is??????????
