Should I go on a 747?
hello,
well, I might have the chance to go on a 747 as a First Officer. I'm currently flying the 737NG with about 900hrs on type and a total time of about 1400hrs.
Do you guys think it is too early starting long range flying already.
I mean there is still so much to learn as a short range pilot, not even thinking about long range, doing much less landings etc.
I'm afraid of getting a bad pilot and loosing a lot of experience if I'm going now on a 747, or what do you think?
Thanks for your thoughts....

The fact you are agonising over the decision speaks loudly about whether you should go for it. I couldn't wait to move my ass over onto it as soon as I could, and I had just over double that time on 4 engine jets anyway, so far less landings than you. And I loved it. But captjns made a good call- insufficient data for full judgement!
