Eastern Airways Pay Increase???

Has RL forgotten his hard working staff this year regarding a pay increase in line with inflation?

It was around this time last year, I think, that staff had their last pay scales reviewed.

Morale=Low; Turnover=High...

...so that's about 99% of the airlines worldwide in the same big boat then...

If you say so, its more a case of greed on the managements part. Shame on them.

i think RPI stands at something at 5% at the moment a 2 percent increase hardly covers that, if anything, people are working for less than last year, milelage claim still rubbish, along with the terms and conditions.

never mind that this massive increase will be reviewed in a few months time, i can bet your bottom dollar ricky will only only give another 1%, leaving his hard working crews to struggle on.

even when i used to work for eastern i always remember getting those personally signed letters from ricky about our yearly increase, and it was always less than inflation. im so glad i work for a company where im well looked after!

Eastern

There may be tough times ahead in the industry. I hope not for all of our sakes.

Eastern though have an oil based pax base (not all of them of course). And those oil companies are looking for oil everywhere. They also have a busy charter base at the moment.

That means that the flight crew may be safe in an uncertain future.

Yes, I know it could all go tits up, but i am hoping not.

So, at the moment, I am glad to be in work and getting some pay rise. Even though the pay in not brilliant, mine has gone up c£2500.00 in one year.

Could someone update the details on ppjn?
Surely 36.5K for a Saab Capt can't be right.
Are the Saab and J41 crews on the same scale?

Er, yes it can! Duty pay will push that closer to £40k though. Off the top of my head think the Jetstream guys are on around £750/annum less than Saab crew.

Don't tell him he may be a spy.

Rumour is about 4 or 5 guys are working their notice. There will be no pay rise, there are plenty of pilots looking for jobs. Anyhow easterns pay scale is so far behind everyone else's it's still going to be crap if we do get one.
