FlyBe Recruiting?
Hello to all,
Military small Jet and heavy turboprop chap looking to move to the real world after 20 years. Looking for advice/opinions, all help gratefully received:
Put an application in to FlyBe for DEC abiut a week ago.
Wondered what the word on the street was:
-Are they recruiting?
-What sort of turn-round times fom application to offer of interview has anyone out there experienced?
-Any tips/opinions on the slection process?
Cheers

Don't quote me but I hear were short of skippers. I joined about 18 months ago as a DEC. On my course were a few ex BA types who seem to have phoned flybe in the morning, and were on the type rating curse in the afternoon. Well, possibly not that fast, but you get the idea.
If your offered a job, it'll be for the Q400. I overtook a hurc the other day in it, so its fairly fast.

To answer a few of your questions:
Dash 8 400 courses are being run at a rate of around one/month included in these courses are new F/Os and new DECs but also a number of E145 pilots transfering onto the Dash. I believe Edinburgh is almost complete in its transfer of E145 pilots and Southampton is beginning soon. In short this means that some course positions will be reduced for new joiners.
As for the application well Flybe are still recruiting and are short of Captains so DECs with previous Tprop experience I am sure will be very welcome. As for the turnaround time how long is a piece of string. I know of guys who have been interviewed between 2 and 6 months after application form submission. Still you maybe able to speak to the recruitment by phone under the premis you want to know if they have your application and steer them. Your call.
As for the interview there has been much said on PPrune try a search all good stuff.
Anything else PM me.
