Crucial question on Easyjet application

Hello guys...I have a problem with easyjet application form and I hope some of you can help me: in the 5 years history section, you're asked to reference your whereabouts everyday of the past 5 years, but you can just select either EMPLOYMENT or EDUCATION ...How can I certify then a period of 6 month during which I have been home temping or doing nothing??? Maybe they don't care about gaps like this? I don't know...And one more thing: once you pass their selction and you're offered a job, they have to check your 5 years in order to issue the airside pass...how do they do that? Do they require any documents to your past bosses??

Thanx a lot!

Yes, you need to verify every day for the last 5 years. You can use a personal reference to verify periods when you weren't working, or in education. If I remember correctly, for personal references, you have to use a different one for each gap.

You will at some point need to apply for a basic disclosure from Disclosure Scotland, but it only lasts so long, so I would wait until you are told to. The rest regarding the pass should be done by your company / BAA.

thank you very much for your relpy mini-jumbo...the problem is that it seems like in the new easyjet application (www.easyjetcareers.com) you're not asked to put personal referees names...in the old one you were instead...anybody else can help??
thanx!

green dot speed, you are surely not going to state on a job application that you were at home doing nothing!!!

Use the employment option and then declare it as full time job seeking on the explanatory section for the entry even if you were practising your tea drinking skills for a future long haul career

Oh yeah, you have to enter something in the extra training section a bit lower down the page (even if you say 'none')or the system won't accept your entry....

Hope this helps!

I also wonder why in this new application form there's no place to put referees names like in the old one...they dont require them no more??

thanx again!

PS for mokin: i'm already on the long haul ehehehe

I am hoping to return to work after being a stay at home Mum for 3 years To my disapointment I have discovered that 5 year history is needed for security reasons although I have never worked in the airline industry I would like to become cabin crew.Sadly after 3 years of hard work at home and now wanting to start a new career I stumped will I have to work for 5 years in customer service (I have already done at least 7 years)

If you can prove that you have been a stay at home mum for 3 years, ie have somebody who will verify the exact dates, a friend maybe then it shouldn't be a problem. I had a situation before joining my previous employer where I had been out of work and not claiming benefit for over 6 months due to having surgery, a simple letter signed by a friend coupled with criminal record checks etc and it's no problem. The best thing to do is gather as much info as you can, previous P45 dates etc will help, just be sure to fill the gaps.

As Ennie has stated, a letter from a friend to verify your whereabouts for the stated period will suffice. I had a gap in my employment history and had no problems obtaining an airside pass.

Actually, the legal requirement for any gaps in between whereabouts is 14 days maximum. More than that you have to provide the proof of somekind ie; hotel bill If you were on holidays for more than 14 days, rent a car bills, airplane tickets, reservations etc. In the worst scenario it can be a letter from a friend or relative.
I had an absolute nightmare trying to get an airside pass....just make sure you are really detailed on it and should be fine

Thank you all guys for your replies to my thread...Anyway, my problem is not the gap itself, but how to put it on the NEW easyjet application, which seems to me not to consider it as an option (as I said before, you can just choose between employment or education)...and it is very strange....there's no place to put referees names too....even stranger....anybody else had to deal with it??? Thanx again!
