Globespan Love Triangle

The heat is now on with the Thomas Cook Group and Zoom Airlines Ltd. both wanting a slice of the action. What will R.G do? Thomas Cook will absorb the holiday business and use the airline to spear head their plans in the Middle East/ Asia & Zoom need to feed Gatwick. Maybe like most auctions a new bidder will jump in at the last minute????? Not bmi though, they were only interested in the 300's to free up thier 319's however tech. issues put a stop to that!!

I think he may be referring to a recent article in the Scotsman. Rick Green (CEO) was interviewed and publicly stated that Globespan were looking to merge, although they were "not for sale" but any airline has a "price".

I can't see the Thomas Cook Group group being interested but Zoom might be. They'd get 3 X 767-300's and the crews that accompany them to absorb into their current operation as well as the 737 fleet and holiday side of the business. It would suit Zoom's plans well to expand their long haul routes as well as some solid bucket and spade work to keep the cash flow ticking over while the long haul side of things expand.

Interesting times ahead for Globespan me thinks. Hopefully they'll recover after a "annus horriblus" last year.
