Second Officers B747-400 - Dubai

Hi there,

Just wondering if anyone know anything about the deal with TNT airways second officer recruitment? What are you suppose to do in flight, are you a relief pilot? Do you get the same 747 rating, without any limitation? Pay?
Has anyone been to any selection or interview?

I know someone who was a second officer with Cathay and he was just a cruise pilot but yes you do get a 747-4 rating but not same pay as F/O. You remained a S/O for a couple of years i think before being eligible for upgrade. Maybe different at TNT this was at Cathay.

Not in Cathay you don't. You get a 747-400 rating restricted to P2X, which is worthless outside of HKG/ CAD.
An F/O gets a full P1 rating
