XL Recruiting

Hi all.

I see from www.ppjn.com that XL are recruiting for the B738.

The last I heard it was job cuts all round. Does anyone have the inside story?

Talking

There have been a lot of voluntary redundancies recently, retirements, people moving to pastures new and now it looks like the 762 will be staying for the summer at least, all this added together means they need to recruit for the 73 this summer.

Just to bring this one back to life.
I asked the question on another forum but so far have received a limited response so I'll try my luck here.
Is anyone able to share some info regarding the usual for XL? I'm thinking in terms of:
a) Starting salary for F/O with >1500hrs (1300 on 737NG)
b) Flight pay and benefits. How much do you make a month in FP on average?
c) Seniority system - time to Command
d) Base policy. Assuming LGW is the main base what are the chances of securing LGW?
e) Morale and general feeling within the company (I'm sick to death of sitting next to someone who spends 10 hours whinging!!)

I'm aware of the info on PPJN but would like the definitive.

I think thats all, replies gratefully received as are PM's. Hope everyone has a good day.

Additional question: understand Excel offer a 'lifestyle contract' in which you are stood down over the winter. Would appreciate info on this, also if you were to apply stating you were interested in this sort of working pattern is this likely to be viewed favorably by the company?

How long is time to command, and what are the chances of a MAN base?

Thumbs up Thanks

A quick thanks for the PM info guys, Im very happy with everything and would be very keen to give it a go. However if anyone has any definitive info regarding the base policy I would be really grateful. I really need to get LGW so it would be good to know how likely this is before I dust off the CV.
Is the info on ppjn still relevant regarding CV submitting?
Again thanks for the info already received.

CB.
