Interview coaching

Am I right in thinking Penny Austin has stopped doing her interview coaching?

If so, does anyone know any other good coaches?

Why do you need someone to coach you on being a person you are not. Why not try being yourself?

Exactly - I mean, why be coached to fly an aircraft - we are all natural pilots anyhow. Driving came particularly easy to me. I just knew calculus - I didn't need school.........

Yes but one needs a license to fly an a/c properly. To change your personality you don't.

I knew of a psychopath who spent months getting coaching so as not to screw up the Psycho test. Well he passed to test but a leopard never changes it's spots, as 2 to 3 months later he exhibited every personally defect know to mankind.

The qualities required to be a competent pilot and model employee do not coincide with the qualities that ones needs to pass an interview. With some people it takes training in both aspects to get the job, whereas others naturally possess the ability to talk the talk.

Joe, getting a practice interview ahead of the real thing, with feedback, is simply thorough preparation, not a desire to be told what to say.

Back on topic, anyone heard whether Penny's seminars have gone to the proverbial hangar?

The Interview!

Unfortunately this is one of the minefields potential Airline Pilots have to pick through.Any information on this is beneficial, and you DO NOT have to go through a personality change or be classified a cheat ,to get whatever advance knowledge you can on the Company before you attend the interrogation!!The 7 Ps are vital in life as an Airline Pilot, and need reappraising;Proper Prior Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance.Any trick up your sleeve is an advantage, and WILL impress the 3 or 5 interviewers,if you show advance knowledge. It means you have made a special effort. In the old days, you had to be a member of the said Chief Training Captain's drinking club to get into his Fleet. These guys have now gone, and you have to perform the tricks as laid out for you to fail in.You will think "What on earth has this to do with my Flying your Aeroplanes"?but the Trickcyclist and Fleet Managers and HR Representative will have the experience of the Ashford Interrogators of old in getting you totally confused.Forarmed is Forwarned.
