Did you pass the interview a long time ago ? I have mine in January, but it looks complicated for me to go there in Budapest. Are they serious ?
Thanks

I passed it on Aug07.....
They told me that I´ll receive news not before the end of 07.

Regarding your question if they´re serious or not.... It´s gonna be better ask directly to any colleague who is already flying with them

Wizzair

Hi,
there was always a long waiting list for Wizz even years ago although they operated only 4 planes!!!

....but to encourage all who are waiting out there:

If you have passed the interview,Wizzair will offer you a job.

Add another 24000 euro/per year Flight pay on to Captains Basic and 12000 euro for F/Os.
(Average, unless you get BBU as a Base) then you trade hours in your log book for less sector pay. I'd say hours in Log book are worth more. Plus at the moment your accomodation in BBU is still paid for.

Swings & Roundabouts.

Add 24000€ to 40000€ = 64000€.

That is still very low. It is less than a jet FO earns in Britain.

Why are the wages so low? Why do people work for that money? ANy ideas please, because I am confused.

Slightly higher I'd say stansdead, from what my pals are earning, probably more like 20% extra then what you wrote. The pay is the way it is due to the average Pilot wage in this area of Europe, Look at the wages of Malev, Lot ect and you will soon realise the situation.
Cheers

The wait is short but only for Captains, plenty of FOs on the waiting list, and they have to wait months before start date.

Stansdead, welcome to eastern europe, what is the average salary for workers in the uk 1500-2000Euro ???
Some days ago I read a report and it says that the average worker in Poland earns 200-400 Euro.

Just as Dentist said,it is average in this area. There are many companies out there who pay less on the Airbus,Boing, although they operate plans in Central Europe (Niki....)

If I understand, for a first officer, you have to pay transportation and hotel to Budapest for the interview and then again same thing for the sim. After you wait few months to earn very small salary. Strange no ?

Interviews were done in WAW ( not too sure if they still are)
They pay return ticket on any of their routes, plus Hotac.

Interviews have also been at BUD. If you use the Wizzair network to get there, they pay for the flight.

I'm on the waiting list as well. Did my type-rating in Madrid in November 2007, was told they will contact me this year

Anybody who recently started can tell us how long the wait was?

I supposed the wait would be shorter for somebody with some hours on the Airbus as they are short on training captains (as every other company).

Cheers!

Thumbs up

Isn't it funny: I am the one to answer my own question!

Just got a call from WizzAir that I can start beginning of February. I had my interview in October and finished my type rating beginning December. Still have to do my base check at Wizz.

I hope this helps and inspires everyone who is still waiting. See you at WizzAir!

Cheers!
