Don't bank on much ( if any ) recruitment before the autumn - from a recent briefing. There may be a little to fill vacant slots that can't be filled any other way. New 'buses partly going to LTN and limited additions at a few other bases - CDG and LYS spring to mind. The number of aircraft for this year is much reduced on previous years.
The gates are forecast to open again in the autumn with the restarting of recruiting to the Company and also a lot of internal promotions - DEC will only happen if places can't be filled from within. LOTS of new a/c coming next year.
All this, of course, is as of now - it may all change again!!!

Dutchjock, I know very well that collegues got transfered to the bus since the base changed a/c. That is not my point. My point is that there will be lots of upgrades on the ībus and these pilots have already got offers for a Command but rejected it (I guess because of an upgrade not within UK). So now eJ will have to pay for a refresher course plus a CMD course for a limited time since they will surely go back to their home bases in the UK and the ībus asap. In the meantime I think there are about 20 f/o:s on the 737 that are ready/soon ready for a Command. To me that doesnt make any sense.
Also, I heard from a friend at a departement that offers had gone out to only ībus rated pilots for a command on the 737...... Maybe that was a misstake?
So I do understand that there are some guys on the 737 not too happy with it.
But hey, thatīs life
BTW I dont drink beer

Viking,
The system is simple really. Offers are made in CPI date order. The offers that have just been made went to those with a CPI date of about March / April 2007.
The total number of upgrade offers for Bus pilots where you didn't have to forfeit your pension: 0.
For those who hold a valid rating on both types, then LTN and NCL was included in the list of offers. If a LTN FO had a senior enough position, then I'm sure that they would have been offered the base. Just because a LTN FO is current on the 737, does not mean he can jump the queue.

"top Swiss"
A friend of mine got hired in GVA with 2 other guys, a former RAF pilot and a Swiss citizen. They've been told that if they got hired so quick (selection was end of January) is that they really are in need of pilots in GVA.
They didn't swim very long, did they?

Hi there
Any EZY insiders got a view on how BA and Air France's requirement for pilots will affect recruitment at EZY over the summer ?
e.g. Will EZY lose a lot of french based, french speaking "experienced A320" pilots to Air France ? Will EZY lose pilots to BA ? Do you think the company are expecting this and changing their plans to account for it ?

For some maybe, however some may be tempted by the possibility of Boeing 777, 747, MD-11 or A330 Second Officer, and some even more by the 737 becoming an entry level type this year for First Officers, of course it all depends on how they perform.

new DEC in MAD??! They told me I am the first, they would call!
By the way, how many days do you have to work at easyjet (including all public holiday days and vacation, MGO,...). because on the internet page it is not realy clear if these MGO days counts for regualar off days? And how much net money is a captain earning in Spain, GB, Swiss,...
Are there any disadvantages, if I go part time or parental leave? For instance the roaster is not stable anymore or whatever?!
Thanks

the easyjet interpretation of 'gradually' seems to be be generally in line with the life of the airframe. There will still be 737's about when they are seeking a successor to the bus
