Thomsonfly / UK 737 FO Recruitment
I appreciate that following the buy out of First Choice, things may be a little up in the air (so to speak), but does anyone know if T-Fly will be looking for 737 drivers this winter / spring?
I am trying to land a job back home before Spring next year.I will have 500hrs + on type so looking for someone to offer me employment back in sunny old U.K.
Any news / rumours regarding U.K. airlines looking for 737 drivers would be appreciated greatly.
Cheers

Hi,
Your chances unfortunately are very very slim to none. In fact scrub that 'none'. Both airlines are overcrewed and if anything I would not be suprised if voluntary redundancies were not on the cards.
Would think though that most other airlines in the uk are getting ready to start looking again for next summer seeing as we are about to enter the quiet winter period.
Good luck in the search.

Regarding T-Fly, that is pretty much the impression I had.
I am waiting with baited (correct spelling?) breath on a couple of applications (not T-Fly).
I know its certainly not an ideal world and I am lucky for the job I have, but I sincerely hope to get an email or phone call asking me to come fly in the U.K.

Not that I take everything on any website as gospel, it does say on PPJN that there will be no recruitment for FCA for 2008.
Its typical, now that I meet T-Fly´s requirements they are not looking for anyone. Ever since I was Cabin Crew there I have wanted to work for them again

Currently overcrewed with FOs, as reflected in my roster with 5 flights in Nov!
Might be a bit short of Capts, but there is no intention to run any command courses next year, so they'll be working a bit harder. as the total number of a/c is due to reduce, there is little to no expectation of any recruitment.
Having said that, the company might be surprised by the number of experienced people who are looking elsewhere, especially command suitable FO's getting offered a command position elsewhere.

Why is T-Fly not being more aggressive with expansion? Or are they living in the shadow of the big 2? Curious that as the market seems to be booming with travellers from all contries, strong companies like T-Fly and now defunct V-Express hiding under the name SN Brussels, are stagnating or reducing. Any facts?

I did the selection for T-Fly back in July 07, was told that I'd passed and would be hearing from them soon. I haven't heard a thing and neither has anyone else that passed that day. Suffice to say, I'm not holding my breath and have got a job elsewhere.
Good luck.
Good luck.
