To be fair, i hate it when people come on a forum and have a go at ones spelling...however, your post above doesn't make sense (have you been down the pub?) . If you want any sensible replies, edit it so we can read it?

On the subject of Globespan, what kind of a two bob outfit are they? A friend of mine booked a flight to New York and when he pitched up at the airport there was none other than a trusty old 737 waiting on him! They had to stop in Newfoundland for fuel(what a surprise!). What a joke.

If you're a 737 skipper then Globespan will take you yesterday. They're really short of skippers at the minute. Have a look at ppjn for details of how to apply.

I've worked for this company at EDI. Count your bargepole after you have touched them with it.

Fly WHO? They still around? I gather at least 3 bases have been closed, all agency pilots getting finished, people leaving in numbers, cabin crew laid off, those recruited and on TR courses not getting taken on.This is heading in one direction! Very very unfortunate for all, but a quick read of virtually every post on this company and all have been saying this for quite some time.

1.6vs,
From the way you write that, it seems like you would want that to happen. Why?

Easyjet and Ryanair won't put these out of business because by all accounts Globespan are doing that pretty successfully without any interference.

For the record I want to see them succeed but I have no confidence in da management! (or their track record!)

letting a lot of guys go

Hi there,
I am not here to criticise flyglobespan, Nice flight deck, hardworking cabincrew and A nice environment, Good sunny destinations. Our major concern is lack of communication and information from the guys at the top. Alot of captains and first officers taken on recently and either have been let go or are about to be. It appears to be mainly contract guys that seem to be going, it also does not help when you have the main contract company not providing any communication to its loyal staff. You hear lots of rumours about the longhaul expansion has caused the problem but, we feel that if the owner of the company came out and just told his staff that have worked very hard during the summer what is going on. If not we can only expect an ill feeling and that next year the airline will find it more difficult to recruit and also find experienced flight deck and cabin crew. It is very disappointing and we all hope it does not come to this.

Boring?

So you say, and then this appears on rumours and news:

Bumped into a Globespan crew yesterday who told me that they'd lost their ETOPS approvals and were having to tech stop en route for their trans-Atlantic routes. Yesterdays LPL-JFK had to refuel in KEF.

After much rumour about struggling due to a poor financial and management position they are closing all bases except for GLA and EDI. Redundancies at all other bases.

Can anybody help? I am trying to book a flight Cape Town/Manchester and it seems as if this route has been taken off the Globespan website. Have they stopped this route or is it a seasonal thing?
Urgent help please as this is for a Christmas present.
Thanks.

I believe the Capetown has been cancelled. Reasons etc being the company's. But if it's not up on the website, you can probably take it as being a no-goer.

why not call and double check? reservations the old fashioned method-
