Khalifa?

That mean the same as kalif or infidel?

Sorry, don't intend to mix politics and religion with airlines, but uh, never heard of Khalifa..

Cool

Hi Spierpoint Jones,

the pilots are mostly Algerians trained by
Condor hence the A 320`s are on dry lease from Lufthansa.
The 2 A330-300`s they have are ex LTU-ex Roots of Canada ,which went belly up, but the A/C are still registered in Canada and flown by Canadians. The single A340 they have is understood to be the one that Boeing bought from SIA in exchange for their B777s.

Who is doing the hiring is not quite clear, but if you are really interested to go there
drop me a private message and I might get a contact .

Good luck !

Hi Tower Dog

I just suggest that you take some interest in what's going on in other parts of the world.
That YOU have never heard of a company doesn't mean that it doesn't exist, doesn't it?
Well, for example, read the magazines, some are very good ones (Flight, Aviation Week..) you can buy them at the airports, or watch the other aircraft on the ground at the airports, or discuss with people who know!

And Khalif doesn't mean infidel, never did

Good luck

recceguy:

Did I ever say the airline did not exist?

Meh thinks you are reading too much into a simple question.

The reason I asked was that I am interested in other companies and stuff. Duh.

Kalif means something in the Koran.
Forgot what it is.

Suggest you take a cold shower, cool off a bit.

TowerDog,

From what you wrote in your first posting I cannot see any interest, and I qoute:
---------------------------------------------
That mean the same as kalif or infidel?

Sorry, don't intend to mix politics and religion with airlines, but uh, never heard of Khalifa..
---------------------------------------------
So, if you do not have anything else to do, please do it somewhere else

If of any use to you, I took the photo of the A.340 published next to the simulator article in the publication referred to.

Know not a lot about Khaliffa, but they appear to be expanding rapidly. The photo was at OMDB where I also saw one of the canadian registered A.330's.

I believe that they operate mainly into Paris and other French destinations, but not with the recently acquired 340.

Close Tower Dog
Khalifa or Caliph

Is
noun historical the chief Muslim civil and religious ruler, regarded as the successor of Muhammad. The caliph ruled in Baghdad until 1258 and then in Egypt until the Ottoman conquest of 1517; the title was then held by the Ottoman sultans until it was abolished in 1924 by Atatürk

To the many people apparently interessed in this thread, and not knowing the place because they are from the non-french speaking part of the world: in the contract ask where you would be based.
In Algiers, Oran... don't venture too far away from the hotel lobby (just before the sand-bags and the machine-gun station)
Sleep with a steel collar, you foreigners!
But yes, they have nice Airbuses

About a year ago there were a couple of Irish registered aircraft and Irish (Captains?)voices on the RT, as well as Algerian FOs (?). Could there be or have been a connection with Parc? Never did get to talk to them as security in Hassi Messaoud wouldn't let us near them.

Don't know a lot more, but country of registration seemed to change quite regularly.

Khalifa also operate 737-800s, A319s and A310s - the latter to LGW twice weekly.

The 737's are operated by Pegasus Airlines. The Algerians fly the ATR's and the A300's.Canadians fly the 330's.Dreadful place to work and nightmarish operations.
Towerdog's blissful ignorance is about the right attitude to have...new hires are usually Algerian or very inexperienced French pilots who go on the ATR.

Cool

Is the situation for potential foreign pilots operating out of Algeria or is there a bit of scaremongering going on? Where are you based out of and do they nightstop much on the A320's? And last of all do they have a website for further info?
