Post continuous modular or integrated...?

Rommel & StressFree,

Read your posts with interest and have a question which both of you are ideally situated to answer:

You both agree that hours and the individual count for more than the course supplier, but would you say an integrated course still carries more weight than a modular when looking for the first job?

I ask this as I am about to commit to SFT in Bournemouth who offer both a full time continuous modular route and an intergrated version. The modular route suits my circumstances a little more but would value you opinions as to whether you think there is an advantage offered by one or the other.

Thanks for you help

Errr, I thought SFT did only continuous modular and that the only real CAA approved 'integrated' courses were from OATS, BAe, Cabair and WMU in the US.(see http://www.srg.caa.co.uk/documents/s...rovedftos.pdf)

If SFT are telling you it's an integrated course then be real careful....

Or have I missed something here?

Humpty,

SFT are starting an integrated course in November. I've had course outlines and costs etc from them, but as yet it does not appear on the CAA website as one, although they seem only to re-do their site when one of these new courses comes on line.

I am trusting that SFT are being straight with this.

Ahhhh, now you mention it I think I read this somewhere else on pprune in response to a question about continuous modular v. integrated.

Given the reputation that SFT seem to have (no personal experience but most folks seem to have good things to say about them) then I suspect I may have been a bit harsh with my comment above.

In response to your question, there's piles of stuff in wannabees.

Good luck!
