Question Iberia. How much do you take home

Mue Buenas Senores ( My spanish can't take me to the spanish forum !! )

Flying a lot to Madrid and Barcelona, I was kind of wondering what kind of pay check you Senores take home; from junior F/O to Senior Captain.
Given the wonderfull place you live in, I take it you must have a tremendous life style.
Tell me more about it por favor.

Thumbs up

Its always been told to me that they are amongst the very best paid flight crew in Europe.

I'd be interested to see the figures.

Their fares are high enough thats for sure.

As one who lived in Southern Spain until recently I can atest to the delightful lifestyle it has to offer.

Unhappy

the F/O's take home 600,000 pesetas per month when they start flying, thats around 2,500 pounds,
captain salary goes from 1,300,000 to 3,000,000 per month,(5,000 to 12,000 pounds)
but to get from the right seat to the left one , it takes a long time (10 years or more)
the thing is that does'nt matter if you have
4000000.... TT and 3 type ratings for different jumbos, if you don't have conexions you wont get in,
i know people working for other spanish companies (as spanair, air nostrum, air europa..., and having type ratings from 727 ,crj,320....)
all with type rating in jet ,and some of them are captains with >3000 h on type (in spain , the captain's rank does not exist, they are comandants instead, alll have tried several times to get in , but none of them has done it yet.

i know also the case of an instructor with 300 TT who has just got in, how? ......,
it seems tha he did really well the simulator test (the vast majority does not even arrive there, they are kicked out on the theoretical or interview)

Thanks SSF220,

Are those after or before tax figures?

How's the recent privatisation going to affect this?

But that kind of money in Spain will buy you a whole lotta more beer than it will in G.B.
