Nett Pay Comparisons
I feel that it's time to stop comparing GROSS Salaries, as this information is totally unrepresentative.
The only accurate method of determining whether or not it is worth "migrating" within the industry is to show the true NETT value of the salary being offered.If a pilot flying the same type as me TAKES HOME £2000 more per month I would be very interested in moving.
At this time the industry is short of pilots, it's time that we got our act together and disseminate some accurate information, so that we can "make hay whilst the sun shines",with regard to pay negotiations.
BALPA issue a comparative salary table which doesn't include pension contributions from the company,etc,etc maybe Danny can set up a Board for quick reference?
I'm not an EU fan, but I do agree with the EU mentality of taking management head on over pay and conditions.
When a company is performing well,they have good bonuses, why shouldn't we get a decent pay review, if the performance is poor then a sensible approach would prevail, nobody wants a company to fail, but a company will fail if it does not recognise the need to look after it's staff during the "summer months".
Then watch out for the large flocks migrating later in the year.
