Shove or Pull?
I make $90,000 USD, excellent retirement at age 57 (I'm 39), company car, fly three different turboprops, two different Cessnas, three different helicopters, domestic and international flights, work bankers hours mostly, most nights in my own bed, legally armed, five weeks off a year, and if I lose my medical I keep all that except the flying. I need YOUR opinion if I should quit and go to the airlines. I know that only the BIG names are worth considering, but even then, am I crazy? I'm inches from the edge, shove me over or pull be back! How much flying do you get to do a year?
If you have allways wanted to fly for airlines and want to fly a lot more, I would go for it. It does seem that you have a pretty good setup there. You don't get shot at or do you... I resent people that shoot at me hahahahahah.
Age wise you should have noooo problems with the airlines.

Depends...
I am told time and time again that I would be bored flying for an airline. Again it is a factor of what you want of your life.
For me schedule, Salary on time, vacations, days off and retirement play a big factor in my decicion to pursue an airline career. Most important, I want to fly more , a lot more. I wish I could come to even close to what you are flying each year...
Put it this way... An airline job will give you ample freetime to spend with your family and with your hobbies.

Its a question of lifestyles really, if you still really enjoy flying then if you go to the airlines you'll miss the type of aviation you're committing now. Its quite limiting to see the same pitch attitudes never change and never exceed thirty degrees AOB. However, if you feel you've done enough of that and just want a permanent stable career till you're sixty I'd say airlines. Excellent pay and conditions etc. with the majors. I hear Southwest is excellent but a bit of a closed shop. Hope some of this helps!
