Question Polar Air Cargo

Does anyone know what Polar is like to work for?

Polar Air Cargo is now a major freight player with it's tie in with G.E. and the new B747-400F'S it has.Saw one at PIK yesterday.

Polar got their ALPA contract about a year ago. Pay is still sub-par, but work rules are a lot better than pre-contract.

It is interesting that the company claimed to be "on the verge of bankruptcy" until the contract was signed, then almost immediately announced the purchase of the -400 fleet.

I have a good friend over at Polar.
If he was single I think he wouldn't mind being gone for 21 days a month.

He has been at Polar for around 2 years.
He's due a command in 2-3 mths. Polar hired a lot of ex-Tower folks so the up-grade times may need to be revised, if that's your bag.

They are owned by GE Capital so they're well funded.
