LH pays according to seniority, no matter which type you are on.
You can move to the B747-200 after approx. 24 month, the B-747-400 takes about 4 years right now.
Basic pay is DM 6404,- and is raised by DM 460,- after the 1st,2nd,3rd,4th,6th,8th,10th year and so on.
As a Senior First Officer you get DM 1000,- more.

I'm considering to apply for a F/O position with LH.
What are the requirements for being promoted to Senior F/O? Is it hours only or also a certain number of years in the company. And how about captaincy, how many years does it on average take?
Thanks in advance

Way to go guys. Starting pay in the late eighties used to be around DM 8000,-. You might want to keep that in mind for your next contract negotiation.
As far as I know, direct entry requirements are 600h multi crew experience.
Does anybody know what the average starting take home income is?

Hi there!
the salary for the lufthansa cargo is about the same like for the classic but as far as I know are the possibilities in general not that good if you want to change to the classic e.g.
You have to bear in mind that we have to pay about 53% tax on the 6300DM but on the other hand one has many benefits within the lufthansa company.
For ready entries with several hundreds or even thousands of flying experience the lufthansa is not really a good choice as no matter how many flying hours you got everything within the company is refered to the seniority and not to the experience!!!
mfg,
downgreen

The terms for conract FEs at LCAG - I don´t know...
Wannabee pilots check out:
http://www.lft-online.de/englisch/nav/frameset_in.htm
For the requirements etc.
Upgrades etc. strictly according seniority - last in, is last in line...
Pay has been mentioned above and is way below average, compared to other companies in the same level - we´re trying to change that, though.

I have just turned down the offer of B747-200 F/E position and can concur with Crewdog above on the pay deal. Take home wouldn't be that much more than from the Queen and only 2 year contracts! not for me.
Also, no pension or medical etc, etc
You do the sums!! It ain't so shiny any more.
