Thumbs down CROSSAIR rejects good qualified Ex-SWISSAIR pilots

...in the aftermath/ wake of the happenings in swissair in october 2001, some 360 pilots were given notice, approx 180 pilots of over 52 years and 180 pilots at the bottom of the seniority list . some of the younger pilots ( some of them also ex LX F/Os and CMDs), applied at crossair for a new job. Most of them got REJECTED by the crossair-board, despite good qualifications for reason of being "TOO SWISSAIR MINDED". same thing happened to licenced graduates of the SRAS, the swissair aviation school....REJECTED!!!

crossair needs pilots as they are stocking up their embraer fleet!!

IS CROSSAIR AFRAID OF HAVING TOO MANY GOOD QUALIFIED PILOTS??????? <img src="confused.gif" border="0"> <img src="confused.gif" border="0"> <img src="mad.gif" border="0"> <img src="mad.gif" border="0">

Hi bu...ship,
as far as I know, it has been the decision of the board of Aeropers, to let those pilots over 52 and the young ones go... whit a remark, that the board would not have them apply for the new company. Employing a young, dismissed SR F/O now would cost the job of a 35somewhat SR pilot with wife, kids and house tomorrow. Crossair will have to employ the pilots now working for SR. Who do you really think, LX would like to see in the cockpit soon? But the hands of the company are bound too, as you all understand, it is a very tricky situation on the swiss market nowadays, government has its fingers in it as well, and I just hope, as many as possible will be able to keep their seats and love the work they are doing.
It is very sad that people have lost their jobs, have their dreams scattered and I feel for every single one of them. Hope this year will see more joy than the last one.
