Question european taxes

Does anyone have first hand knowledge of the broad rules convering the income tax liability of say a UK citizen flying based in Italy ?

For example how many days doe he/she have to be out of the UK to be exempt of UK tax ?

The rules seem to be very complicated, so I would appreciate any first hand knowledge feed back.

Compliments of the Season to you all.

add to this whether or not you fly a UK reg aircraft or an I-reg..
This may come under the rules pertaining to income made on ships and aircraft..
Utter effing confusion..
