Good luck!

You'll forever be one if you keep up with that attitude.

I asked for some advice on a job interview, so in other words I'm a wannabe of kinds.

Same old pprune huh, ask a question and have someone start a slanging match.

Tasty Orange Juice, chill man !

High Wing Drifter's comment was fair one. This site is specfically for wannabes and this post will no doubt be moved once a moderator notices it. This should be posted in T&E.

Was also a fair question asked as I was, rightly or wrongly, under the impression that Monarch weren't the typical sort of airline that takes wannabes on other than through cadet type programmes.

Anecdotally, I've heard off other pilots who know of other pilots who've been to the selecetion and sim and have left me with the impression it's all very straight forward.

Hey OJ!
Well my eyebrows are now lightly singed.
You'll forever be one if you keep up with that attitude.
Well I suspect you might be right, but that is another thing. As Mr Goose alludes, it kinds of clouds the issue for us if we get posts asking for info in here from guys with a gazillion 737 hours. It is difficult enough getting a feel for the current situation as it is.

As easyrider says it's just purely a simple talk - all of about five minutes in my case many moons ago. There are no traps or tricks, they simply want to see you are not the green eyed, two headed monster. At the rate things are going you may have a job quiker than you think

No sim ride, no selection as such, just a chat. Are you somebody one would want to spend hours in a flight deck with and then a week in a bar??

No sim ride

fmgc – you are indeed quite correct ! I realised later on that in fact the person who told me about Monarch, did indeed refer to the fact that the person in question (and I don't believe they had that many hours - if memory serves correct was leaving Easy for Monarch) had no sim ride ! As previous posts have indicated. A brief chat and handshake !!

Just goes to show you can't believe everything you read on pprune ;-)

F-all squared......most Monarch F/O's would swap jobs with someone from Easy. More money, stable rosters decent number of days off per month at Easy vs crap money, crap pension, salary cap after 10 years and rosters that are a work of fiction as soon as they come out.

My record is 10 changes to a roster BEFORE the month it covered even started and I'm sure I'm not the worst affected. I'd say on average I get about 15 roster changes per month - that really pi$$es you off after a while. Monarch view any work day as a day they own you for 24 hours.

Swerving the thread a tad. Whats this i hear about the 330 on repair at MAN?? Serious damage after a rather firm landing?
Along with the 321's that came knackered from BMI, not much luck of late
