Bad news EFB however good on you for being pro-active.
Perhaps a call directly to the likes of GECAT and Alteon?
I gather there is a general shortage of TRIs in the UK, however, I am not sure how much UK companies will use SFIs. Cold calling the best option, methinks, until someone pops up on here with better quality info.
Best of luck

Sorry to hear 'bout the medical.
Unfortunately a valid class 1 is a requirement if going for TRE.
you could of course become TRI only if someone will employ you in this instance.
Good luck, FWIW my company will only employ trainers with TRI/TRE.

A Class 1 medical is also required for SFE. In order to be an SFE you have to have a valid LPC and an valid ATPL.
You cannot have a valid ATPL without a Class 1 medical.
There is no such restriction on the SFI qualification.
Good luck.

Hello all,
I'm in a similar situation to exflyboy. Lost my medical recently due type 1 diabetes. Had done 7 years in BA (4 on 737, 3 on 777) having joined from the cadet scheme in 2000. I'm also investigating Sim work, so any hints, tips or contacts you kind folks can throw my way would be hugely appreciated.
Thanks all,

CAe Simuflite
Hello EFB,
You should try CAE Simuflte at Burgess Hill. Good benefits, pay, and the company is growing like mad. The were primarily a corp/military training, but are rapidly moving into doing outsource training for Airlines. They have B747-400, A340, A320, & all the latest corporate equipment.
Also they have positions for ground instructors and advanvced airmanship courses. You can seriously have a career and still be involved in aviation. You might possibly move to a Mgmt within the company and have a really lucrative career.
Good Luck!!
