XL recruitment

Any info about XL airways requirements?
Any chance for turbo-prop guys with 1,000 hrs?
What's the deal with the type rating?
Thanks.

Recieved an email from them, 2 or 3 months ago asking me if I would like to attend an interview. Turned it down as it's a self-funded type rating to the tune of £22,000.

Thanks, is the money required upfront?

Or a reduced pay scheme of some sort?

O Well...

Never had to pay upfront for a rating, no reason to start now.
Thanks for your help.

Same thing happened to me.

Offered a position but had to part with 20K+ for the type rating which I found to be a little insulting given my experience which I thought would be valuable.

I really hope the tide changes soon regarding airline recruitment where the managers and bean counters no longer look at their potential workforce as "customers" who they can gain another source of income from.

XL seemed like a good company to work for and I would have liked the opportunity but I am not ready to part with a fortune for the priviledge - they seem quite nice but they aint that nice.
