I can't stop thinking about the good job every ATC have done around euroland to keep getting good wages compared to those of pilots.

I fear that our airline pilot profession is dead.
Has been killed off by that 'Cee U Next Tuesday' o'leary at Ruinair, and SleasyJet are slowly jumping onto the bandwagon.

Nobody pays to do ATC because there's not even the chance to do so...
I also think that Airline Pilot profession is a dead one, no doubt about it. Unfortunately.
Probably in the near future I will have to switch career, it's starting to get uncomfortable.
As for the topic title, myself:
Light/Medium TP Captain, working 28 on/off, 4500 a month, allowances on the 28 days on-field are circa 900.

Belgian flag carrier. In my third year as an F/O on an AVRO Jet. Average 60 to 70 hours a month. Workload is high and rostering is crap unless you know the right people, 7 days on, 3 days off.
Net pay 2000/month. Allowances 75/night stop, 10 per block hour, average 800-900 euro/month on annual average.
Other benefits: hospitalisation insurance, loss of licence insurance, golden handshake at retirement, vacation pay 1500/year.

Ryanair ,captain 8 years, 5 on 4 off basic pay net £5900 and sector pay of between £1600 and £2400. In July and August working a few days off, last year pulled in sector pay of £3500, superb pay, and none of the line traing crap either.

Pilot999, you must be working for a different Ryanair.
£5900 basic pay net? So your basic UK salary is in the region of £120,000? plus sector pay on top? Are you a base Capt or Management?
Normal Ryanair Line Capt salary uk is around £55,000 plus sector pay (£3500 net a month basic plus sector pay) + bring your own tea bags and bin liner to work (not joking folks).
Brookfield is somewhere in the region of 125 Euro/hr gross + no benefits.

A320 FO, South China Sea. £1300/month including allowances for 85h, 10-14 off/month + 28 days leave. Limited health cover.
Apparently it's a very good salary here but when I go "home" it's barely pocket change...

Hi Guys.
Looking for info on the Ryanair Brookfield contract, preferably from a Captain. Interested in the reality of it. ie. How many hours flown over the year. How much work in the winter. Tax etc.

When I was 29 I was given the chance to take over my father`s company.I refused because I had been recently promoted to Captain and I wanted to be a pilot.It was the career I chosed.
Well , It was the stupidiest decision I ever took.The guy which stayed with my father`s company is rich ,sleeping at home every night and I`m flying in Africa, on my 7th job , far from my family.
Not all pilots fly for the major companies.Pilots are like soccer players. There are just a very few who make nice money.

Hi. I was looking at the pay rates posted by pilots and saw a post on page 39 by BradA380 (Emirates, as he is based in Dubai, only A380 company in this part of the world, with a registration date of Feb 2010 for PPRune). I'm not sure what his agenda is (he might be a management person talking up the possibilities with the company), or an inflated idea of himself, but a everything he wrote is incorrect.
He isn't a year one F/O, nor is he 23.
He most certainly is not earning the money he says he is.
If he is a pilot at EK, then his standard leave per year is 42 days, which is 6 weeks, not 8. Pay for vacation used to be standard, now it isn't. Days leave are often used to meet the legal requirement for days off in a month.
There are no direct entry F/O's on the A380 - I believe the minimum experience is two years with the company, of which all must be on the A330/340 fleet - that doesn't mean you get to the A380, only that you qualify to bid for it.
If he is a local (UAE national), then he might be 23 - but still not eligible for the A380 due to experience level. The locals are on a very different pay and benefits package to expatriate pilots.
To apply to EK you would need a minimum of 4,000 hours jet time, so you can calculate his possible minimum age from that.
The pay of an F/O at Emirates, is the same for all fleets - A330/340, B777, and A380. I believe it is approximately 25K UAE dirhams, which is approximately 5K EUro, $6800 or a little over £4K. From that, his pension contribution (there are many rumours about this, but it is similar to most companies except the choices are very limited), medical costs (if he has a family), and utility costs, if he exceeds the limit allowed, are deducted.
His medical benefits are restricted - covered 100% for most treatment in Dubai, but not elsewhere - and you may need or wish to go elsewhere (this can be quite a shocker as many have been left with substantial bills due to medical treatment).
Much of the information above is available on the EK website, or from fellow pruners.
