BA Airbus Rosters
I've just been offered an Airbus course date starting in the summer and am keen to find out more about Airbus rosters and typical working patterns. I will be a commuter from the Wiltshire area and would appreciate any views on the viability of this.

I'm in Hampshire but looking to move to Glasgow. People commuting from all over the world. There's even an Airbus F/O commuting from Oz! In BA the term "commuting" usually applies to those travelling by air. Wilts will be no problem at all. Plenty of guys drive much further. Will be a pain at first on "Blind" lines but once on "Trip" lines you can pretty much choose your own trips.

Good news /bad news............
Congrats with the BA job , you have just acquired the silver spoon ( if you are young enough ) but kiss goodbye to any idea of weekends off / etc for a while . Hopefully you are keen to do sectors and hours for a couple of years , because that is exactly what you have earned. Your first 5 years in BA are not yours , but the rest are magic. Enjoy.
