737NG TR JAA or FAA training is it different?

I am just wondering If you do a TR for any plane for that matter, lets say in US or Canada, but you want to pursue the work in JAA countries, are those TR companies certified to give you a training meeting both FAA and JAA standards and for that matter as well ICAO, or does that differ from every contracting state? Ie.; If you want to fly in JAA country, do you do your training in EU and If you want to pursue your career in N.America you do your training there or that doesn't matter? Anyone?

Thanks,BD
