Not strictly related to Globespan, but in response to Islasdad. I guess I am one of those 'IDIOTS'.

I posted to the Excel / XL thread warning that that ship was sinking when, despite the BBC announcing that the company was seeking emergency funding and had appointed Kroll, someone started flaming the poster of the article in question for talking the company down.

Anyone who has been in aviation for a few years knows what a ****ty business it can be when times are hard and burying your head in the sand doesn't help.

My own ship has just sunk and I have been trying to persuade colleagues to see the danger for the last six months. At least 50% (mainly the new guys / girls) have refused to acknowledge that anything was wrong and have consequently left it too late to find alternative employment. (I managed to secure a place in the hold pool at Flybe, for which I am exceedingly grateful, and most of the other enlightened 50% also found work).

A bit of topic I know, but PPRuNe is a fantastic resource if one learns to differentiate between the informed and uninformed speculation.

The clue, is after all in the name of the site!
