Hi,

Yes indeed looks like a super idea. Considered applying also but checked with two former colleagues (whom I have a lot of professional respect for) who work there.

They seriously advised me not to bother. Both of them are looking to get out....... Good news if you really do want to join I guess.

Very unhappy pilots, and these guys are the type always to look on the bright side.

Hope this is of use to you. I hear Zoom is going to be fun...... if its 767 long haul you are after. Good pay also.

Happy hunting, DM

How can your mates want to get out when Silverjet have only just launched?.
Are they ex Flyjet and moved to Sjet?

Mr angry.
According to my sources - the pilots fly for both airlines, whether based at MAN or LGW (Flyjet LGW now closed so pilots commute to LTN)
MAN based pilots mainly fly Flyjet with occasional Silverjet flight and LGW??/LTN fly mainly Silverjet with occasional Flyjet flights.
There was no jumping ship from one to the other.
The cabin crew are a different matter entirely though as Silverjet have employed their own as its a different standard of inflight service.

Hi,
Both are former Flyjet (as are all bar a very few).

They were initally very pleased that Silverjet came along but as they had a chance to work under the new people they became disheartened very quickly.

You are quite correct that they only launched in January but the new management has been in place for longer than that.

My point is that my former colleagues are really good guys, not prone to moaning about this and that, not millitant and love to fly airliners. Really my sort of people and there view means a lot to me.

Perhaps you have a point about the time scale though. Its not always the best plan to jump ship too soon. Mind you, I held off joining the locos and now I wish I had joined years ago, but then with my coordination I am lucky to be flying anything
