Bidding Patterns and Open Time

When bidding does your airline have preassigned patterns or city pairs that you bid on (that are then put into patterns)

Also, is there any Open Time provision in your contracts? For instance, if a pattern is resulting in less open time than the one you bid on -- can the airline assign that pattern instead?

I don't think many airlines in UK have a bidding system.
If you are lucky enough to be in one then thank your lucky Stars.
