As long as you turn up for work properly rested in accordance with CAP371 and are able to turn up to work within 1:30 when on standby where you choose to spend your time on your days off is your business.
CAP 371 does state "Travelling time, from home to departure aerodrome, if long distances are involved, is a factor influencing any subsequent onset of fatigue. If the journey time from home to normal departure airfield is usually in excess of 1½ hours, crew members should consider making arrangements for temporary accommodation nearer to base."

Mr Coyote, or anyone else for that matter, can you shed light on which of the cities you visit are actual night stops? Also, if you are feeling generous, any coments on stops other than Tehran and Beirut? Thanks

Current places where we stay are Addis Ababa, Almaty, Amman, Ankara, Baku, Beirut, Bishkek, Damascus, Tashkent, Tbilisi and Tehran. That is at present, when the winter schedule comes into effect we will be staying in Khartoum and Freetown.

Of the places that we currently stay I mostly enjoy them all. They all have interesting places to visit and good places to wine and dine with the exception of Tehran and Khartoum.

I applied with a couple thousand medium Jet hours plus an A320 rating done through GECAT and I got a PFO letter, not even an interview.

Could be a blessing in disguise mind.

I start with another Airline in January flying mainly 321s and possibly 320s depending where I get based.
