Part Time work at Thomas Cook/My Travel

I work for First Choice on a part time contract; 4 months on, 8 months off.

With all the talk of a possible bid from Thomas Cook and My Travel, I would like to hear from any pilots at these airlines about what part time work patterns are offered.

Kind regards,

GMS

About 1-2yrs ago at MYT the management were keen to accept pretty much any combination of part time/part year working. I'm not so sure they're so keen anymore, certainly haven't heard of anyone taking up that option recently.

Sorry I can't be more precise.

Wouldn't you be pretected by TUPE rules if there's any merger/buyout etc???

MYT are certainly happy to do deals on PT working that gets rid of people in the winter, not sure what will happen after the merger, though I suspect winter off will still be pretty easy to negotiate.
I don't think you will see a bid too early, my understanding is the 2 companies have agreed not to bid for anything like this until the merger is sealed (probably June) and then I would think they will be too busy with merging the companies to do anything much else for a while.
