Patience with Easy
Ok, I'm sure that there must be plenty of guys and gals out there who are waiting for a pilot workshop assessment date with Easy after receiving the standard "ok we will have a look at you" email.
I'm presuming that there is a bit of a backlog at the moment, but can anyone shed any light on the waiting time required? Not that I'm getting impatient obviously!!

First hand information from JP, about 3 weeks ago, that we need 426 pilots, preferably on line by June next year. So I guess if you have a licence and a pulse, you should hear something very soon! 
Think we wount get enough people to achieve this? - "We are well on our way to reach the target for next year"!!??

Same problem with me, Capt Cook, wait now for 3 months. I have the correct type rating and more than enough hours. I guess the capacity isn't there, either in recruiting and/or training.
I hear from my friends on the line that every day flights are cancelled because of lack of crews. So they need them fast...
You also here mixed signals about bases, it looks like most of the bases are full and are not accepted anymore.

Have tried a few emails with no joy. Anybody have any idea about how I can contact the recruitment team?

I think it helps if you fill in the application with the so called 'pilot recommend scheme', so if you know someone who flies for eJ.
I got a call within two weeks after doing the application beginning of august.
And it was for a SFO position, so no TRSS.

I believe the immediate requirement are guys airbus rated and available on very short/immediate notice that can go straight on a refresher course. This appears to be where they are placing the priority on getting people in for assesment - who can blame them.
Means that non-rated will have to wait out longer to get a foot in the door once the immediate requirement has been attended to. Of course by then there may be fewer places going - but with ongoing expansion and attrition I'm sure there will still be more jobs to come in the future.

Alvin, I cannot confirm that, since I have 2000 hrs as CMD on A320, 8000 total and current and running, here and available. What my spy told me is that they are so short of sim capacity that they cannot take in more people even if they need them on the line...
But I'm sure that this is only a temporary problem and somehow they will find a solution.

Are you looking for a GVA or BSL basing? Bear in mind easyjet and easyjet switzerland are effectively two seperate companies. The numbers required for switzerland are much, much fewer than for 'G' reg easyjet. Also bear in mind as far as I know easyjet switzerland do not take direct entry command - in fact I think they may even have a seniority system??

But EZS (Easy Jet Switzerland) is also desperately looking for pilots, and everyone that is applying for Swiss bases knows that he has to start as FO. Which is no problem for me. btw, you have to give 3 choices of bases in your application.

Indeed you do have to give 3 preferences of bases, but preference is as the word indicates 'preference'. Essentially they will give you a base where they need people, and its your choice to take it or leave it. Indeed it is silly to have 3 preferences when you are going for EZS, maybe they will get another base in the future, there are supposed to be 2 more announced for next year. Where - is a closely guarded secret - but hopefully a bit more secret than the run-up to Madrid base! With the majority of guys going to EZY rather than EZS, then it would appear that there is less of a waitlist for interviews to join EZY.
But we have certain days that are targetted as recruitment days for EZS or EZY, sometimes a combination. But the majority of recruitment days are for EZY. Guys in the past have transferred from EZY to EZS, but it is a case of applying to the other company and resigning from EZY.
Sim time is a problem. Even trying to get slots for guys to do a sim check after they have passed the first recruitment stage is an issue. Having previously been a good customer at Alteon in Luton with the number of Boeings. As all 300 are gone we have no need for either of the 300 sims at Alteon. Therefore not as much of a frequent flyer with Alteon makes it difficult to get the slots we want. Which is why some guys have been going down to Gatwick and doing the assesment on a B747-400.
Having a friend recomend you in the company helps at least to get your name flagged. But we have lots of guys that have been screened and acceptable waiting for interview. So I do feel for you - and its a case of hanging on in there.

I applied on 11-10-06 for DEC in Madrid ..... Nothing!
I am ready at short notice and current on the A320 having just finished a contract in Spain with Contractair ............ Have you got any idea how I can contact the recruiting team and get my application looked at again (assuming its been looked at all !).
It seems Easy needs pilots and as my bank manager can confirm, I need work, whats causing the delay
