High!
Presently a military pilot seeking for a job with a commercial airline. From a friend I heard AIR MACAU is seeking A300-600 pilots. Has anyone heard abuot the salary they pay???

Air Macau salary
Net pay for A300 F/O is roughly US$5500;Capt is roughly US$8000 per month. Plus 13th month pay extra every december and after the 4 year contract is up, you get 6 months salary as a bonus.

segiokl, money as a number is a poor designator of lifestyle. Find out what Take-us-in's figures are worth in that country, and what lifestyle, and presumably what savings you can make whilst there. For example if you chose a job in Hong Kong on USD5500 per month you could spend 3,000 of that on a very moderate apartment for a small family. Or even a singleton.
I have met only (sadly...) one guy from Air Macau, a Portuguese Captain who was very content there with his late teens family of two. I appreciate this might be your first port of call on your research, but there is much more to find out than salary.

Life in Macao is pretty simple.The salary is just ok and should keep the laonsharks at bay. Now seriously, the cost of living has been on the rise the last couple of years, rents going for about US$1000/month for an expat standard apartment(I use the term loosely). Macao has a population of just under 500,000 so it's not quite a cosmopolitan city, not too much to spend your money on, unlike with our rich sibling to the East, Hong Kong. If you're a family man, life on Taipa island or Coloane island, away from downtown Macao ia nice and there are a few international schools to choose from(about US$6000 per year). The airline itself has had a hard time keeping pilots around. Since you don't have a retirement scheme and no salary increases with every year of service, it makes little sense to stay here for too long. Most guys are looking for an upgrade, build a couple of years time in the leftseat and then it's time to return back to europe for a better job. If you are out of a job or looking for your first airline job, it's a good deal. Scheduling is a problem here also since they are always changing your schedule around, not enough standbys and lots of delays flying in and out of the major chinese cities. Change is in the air here though, hopefully management can find the will to improve the conditions and keep more people around for longer, it would be in everyone's interest.

What are the MINS?
What is the pay for a FO on the A-320.
Looking for more details. When you say standard apt. what are we talking?
What is training like?
Do you have many overnights, and does the company take good care of you while on the road?
For someone single, could Macau and the surrounding area be a fun place to live other than gambling, hookers and drinking??? Nevermind that sounds like paradise!

Macau is generally a good place if you have kids.
But single people become bored here really quickly due to lack of decent bars/clubs, and very very few single expat women. Meanwhile very few of the local girls are either up for western blokes, or they arent really what you're after. Even gambling, hookers, and drinking get boring after a while....

I have been to Macau, and yes you wıll get bored out of your mind living there!!!
There is hookers and some good bars ın town, however that is it !! Also, the locals HATES foreigners and they speak absolutly NO English , which makes living and working a living hell !!
However.....the pay is pretty good for a pilot and liviıng costs are not that expensive compared to Hong Kong and so on.
Bring a good entertainment system if you are going
