thomsonfly pay

Sorry if this has been covered in another thread. I have just been offered 737 out of MAN with Thomsonfly, and have accepted!! In the contract it mentions salary and sector pay, but not duty pay. On ppjn it mentions duty pay at £2.71 per hour. Can anyone clear up whether there is salary, sector pay and duty pay? Also do they pay salary during training? Thanks, this will make cash flow planning easier!

Hi,

As far as i'm aware you are paid from day one of training, you will be paid a basic salary and also duty pay and sector pay but this obviously is for the month.

Can I also ask when did you do stage 2?? Was MAN your first choice if not what did you go for?

If direct entry you get paid from day one. Salary, duty pay, sector pay and flexi work (which you won't be qualified to do until line trained). Duty pay will be paid for all groundschool and any time away from home base, so if you do a type rating at CTC you will get duty pay 24hrs a day from leaving Manchester until return to Manchester. The same applies for any line training done away from Manchester.

Enjoy.

Congratulations

Just to expand on Pilot Pete's contribution ...

I joined thomsonfly on the 737 at MAN through CTC.
If that is where you are joining us from, for the first 6 months, your salary will be paid by CTC at 1000/mth, after the 6 months, you will move on to the standard S/O salary scale.
During those first 6 months, you sill still get full duty pay and sector pay.

Waffles, Thomsonfly employees sent to CTC for their 737 course are paid their full salary from day 1, as Pilot Pete says.

Ahh, but there is a subtle difference. If you join as an experienced pilot, direct entry, you get paid the full S/O or F/O (as appropriate) salary whilst you do your type rating at CTC (or wherever else they may send you in the future).

If however, you join through the CTC ATP Scheme and get placed with Thomsonfly, then you get the deal that waffles mentioned.

ThomsonFly

Does anyone know roughly what the salary is for a SO on the 757?
Also what do they pay whilst doing the type training in house?

Thanks

The pay is the same on all fleets.

In the rank of S/O, there are 3 pay scales depending on your experience:
1) Below 500TT or 100 Jet
2) Above 500TT AND 100 Jet
3) Above 1000TT AND 500 Jet
Once you pass 1500TT with 1000 Jet, you move up to the F/O rank and it's associated pay scales which are primarily dependant on time with the company.

On the first of the S/O pay scales, after tax, you'll take home about 2000-2100/mth. 2300/mth on the second scale and about 2500-2600/mth on the third.
These all exclude all sector pay, duty payments and the FWS (flexi payments) which can add a few hundred on.

Hope that helps.

I did my training externally so can't help on the type rating issue !
