Pilot Assosiations Question
HI everybody,
Unfortunaly in mi country and in my compan we have been passing through a big mistreatment, overworked underpaid situation and now we are getting together to trade a better working conditions and a appropiate treatment from the company so we join together in a assosiation aiming to get back the respect we deserved as pilots and hard workers. I am a F/O and I'm one of the ones encharged of make the F/O's chapters on the assosiation reglament so here is my inquire:
I'm looking for any advise about how any other assosiation consider their F/O's, regarding rights, responsabilities, task sharing, etc.
I hope you guys can share with me any info.

I have been involved in forming a Pilots association and I am willing to help.
However, I am not quite certain what your question is. In my experience, the association would have one set of articles of association and bylaws that would would govern all members irrespective of the rank they hold at work.
Further, while there may be some specific duties & responsibilities for Captains or F/O's, the conditions of employment ought to be the same, albeit at a different rate, which in any event will be one of the hardest things to negotiate with your employer once the association has been recognised as the sole bargaining agent for all Pilots at your company.
I would also suggest that you visit www.ifalpa.org and perhaps contact them for assistance. I have several friends Mexicana and Aeromexico that are very active in Ifalpa through their home association "ASPA de Mexico". Naturally they all speak spanish which may be of further assistance to you and your coleagues.

rights for F/O's
I understand but in my company as some other ones too the Captains have all the rights, the benefits and the F/O's seems that they are there just to put the gear up and down, fortunaly the most of the Captains in my airline are not like that and have a great CRM but there's also a group which of course came from the same previous airline that treat their F/O's like secretaries and the manuals support them. I heard that in some assosiations they have specific chapters where are mention some rights for the F/O's like spliting the flight legs evenly, having the same quality of food, etc.
Whatever happens,.. happens!

It seems you have bigger problems then just to form an association! I'm sure you know that any association is only as strong as the solidarity of its membership.
I'm afraid I am ill equipped to assist you, what you appear to be fighting seems to be a cultural issue, I suspect that any written rules of conduct or SOP's might not have any impact on those who are still stuck in the last millenium.
Perhaps you will have to find other methods to "encourage" some of your (obviously) senior coleagues to get with the program.
