better scheduling
Perhaps if there is a shortage of experienced pilots out there, it is time to start asking for a rotating schedule such as 3 weeks on and three weeks off so one can return to their home country insted of being stuck halfway around the world. I used to work at such a job on smaller turboprops many years ago. You could live where you like. I'm sure it probably won't happen, but does anybody like the idea?

Everyone except the airline MGT. I'd like to do that too but I really don't believe that shortage of experienced pilots can make MGT hand out some concessions to pilots because airlines can always fill seats with inexperienced pilots. And new guys are even better than the old ones because they have heavy debts from their fATPL trainning, exacerbated by SSTR-ing themselves into RHS so out of the fear of losing their jobs they're less likely to disagree with or complain about anything their company bestows upon them.
