easyjet crewing

Why are easyjet advertising on this website about " stability in a dynamic enviroment" when everybody that flies for them suffers no end in roster changes. In addition, do other easy pilots think that touch and go contravenes the ops manual? I am referin to tha part in limitations about instructions to crewing and issueing changes. If they are such a rare event why do we need to chec t an d g everyday and where is it written down that we need to check after EVERY FLIGHT. surely they can get in contact with us. I am regularly past + 30 mins after landing still on admin.

yes flaps. i put on log easy give me too many changes, i do not agree with advert, and i think crew ing do not follow ops manual . thankyou for your advice. it must be nice to live in a world where you think this sort of lifestyle normal.

Ngr, Firstly, if you speak to pilots working for many airlines, you will discover that changes are inevitable in this industry. The majority of changes are due to your colleagues going sick, so flights need to be covered with SBY's, Contactables and swapping crew's around on flights. Other changes are due to weather and tech problems, causing delays on flights, putting crews out of hours for the next day.

It is not that crewing are deliberately trying to cause disruption to your lives, there are many factors to consider when swapping around flights and many different departments that need to be consulted first.

Perhaps if you took the time out to go and observe in the Ops room, you would see how manic things can get.

You also need to consider that Crewing have hundreds of crews to look after, not just you, so calling around every person can take time. Touch and go is simply there to help out crewing and yourselves, helping to ensure you do not get disturbed when you are off duty.

Please also remember that you have 30 mins after on blocks to de brief and collect changes. This, and any time over is included in your duty time and is what you are being paid for.

Please spare a thought for those many crew that would love to be in your situation, and would give their right arm for a bit of disruption to their roster!

You clearly totally misunderstood my posting.

If you actually work longer than 30 minutes after blox just record the actual off duty time on the journey log. That's what it's there for.

these changes more than normal. i hear we stopping flights for not enough pilots . one stanby is enough to change whole of week after and this not good for family. I got ride at ryan so i off hope. they have nice roster no changes.

From an outsider looking in the stability at Easyjet will only get better, and as comparing them with Ryanair you just can't. Chalk and cheese.

Easyjet are becoming BA next generation, Ryanair the new lower low cost. I know who I would want to work for!

Many Easyjet pilots seem to have some sort of superiority complex when looking at Ryanair- having worked for both, I have to laugh!

Apparently Ryanair are about to go 5on4off so I would suggest it's Easyjet that needs the luck.

'Chalk and cheese' - well that's certainly true when I compare roster stability, all the way back to Easyjet 1998 and I believe it's still a major problem.It's not 'will only get better'.......... it's 'CAN only get better'!

I'm not here to big up Ryanair particularly but.....PLEASE .....if you're going to promote so called superior airlines don't use Easyjet!

Roster stability will be better at RYR because the Pilots can do longer FDP's and weekly duty hours so less disruption its as simple as that

Are you saying that it's not possible to achieve a stable roster inside CAP371 limits? If not then what are you saying?

Not at all, you just need to work for a company with with twice the amount of crew the Managers are willing to pay for.

Ngr,if you cant stand the heat, get out of the kitchen. We all know the negatives when we decide to join the world of aviation, it is the same whatever company or area you work in. If you don't like what you are doing, there are plenty of other careers out there.

i stood the heat ok for a while but they keep turning up the temperature!!!! It is not bearable anymore and I know somebody had a big row with chief pilot stating so . I not the only one leaving an i do think ryan will be better. the resignation rate of pilots this past six months alone shows people now voting with there feat

by the way i do not need another career i need another job. pilot is not a dirty word and i sure if people in other professions were told there hours change daily they would be uopset. pilot is a good job and i enjoy it but like all thing i need to have life out of job and that not poss at easy. if you like easy you must be single with no social life as relationsip is excluded whem you work like this. thankyou for the invitation for new carreer tho . i really appreciate your concern as it so long someone cared for me here at eezy

Mr Angry and Intheno appear to have the attitude typically displayed in companies at the lower end of the food chain.Never done it themselves but always telling pilots how easy we have it, they should ask some AME's about the health of todays low cost pilots before they go spouting about something they know nothing about.

That's the way it is because that's the way we make it.

Pilots have different ideas about what is acceptable but if you check how many pilots at Easyjet have gone part time you will see that many find that a full time job with them is not sustainable for too long, surely that is unacceptable at a so called career airline?

There will always be smaller operators who for a variety of reasons demand a 24/7 approach from all their staff , that's understood and even enjoyed by plenty people.A large scheduled airline has no excuse apart from the lack of will or ability at or near the top, which then filters all the way down.

Set your sights a bit higher guys, maybe then your jobs will get easier too and you can get out more.

the problem i am sure at easy is the crewing. my reason ing is i know of one girl from that department who has gone to a cargo outfit and caused all sorts of mayhem with the easy blunderbus approach to manning airplanes. i am sure she, as her friends at easy are, is totally unaware of the effect of actions amongst the people at the coalface. generally i find no smpthy from crewing if they change me and i have made plans in the time off now given to a duty....so i do not do change....tough. my main aim of this post was to say the advert is misleading but i think peple know that. I wonderf if it is worth refering it to ASA. documentary evidence on easy crewing comp. will show this advert is hogwash. young men and ladies are signing up for 90000 loans on the strength of what they read about a career in aviation.
